“Patriotism the need of the day”- Republic Day celebrations at LPU

As we all know patriotism is the need of the day, Lovely Professional University tries to instill such feelings in its students-the future citizens of the country. The students are encouraged to organize and participate in various social activities and festival celebrations. An example of this is the celebration of the Republic Day in the University Campus. A show was organized by the Education and the Physical Education department of the University that observed enthusiastic participation by students and teachers at LPU. The program began with the Flag Hoisting ceremony. After the flag hoisting, a march past took place. To portray unity in diversity, various dances depicting different cultures of the country were presented by the students. Hoop dance, Bhangra, Rajasthani Dance, a performance on patriotic song, aerobics, yoga and a one act play based on the sacrifices made by the great leaders were some of the highlights of the day.   The event ended with note of thanks by Mr. Vijay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, LPU who expressed his feelings of being honored to be a part of such a program and commented that such shows at LPU truly prove the patriotism, which is the need of the day.
